Subaru Transmission Swap Wiring - What Do I Need to Make My New Transmission Work?
Updated: Nov 4, 2019
When putting in a new transmission in their Subaru project most people think of fitment and engine compatibility but rarely consider the wiring. Don't get stuck with butt connetors, soldering, or worst of all, leaving them unplugged! To complete your transmission swap, use one of iWire's simple Plug and Play Transmission Adapters. If you are doing a DCCD Controller install we have Plug and Play options as well.
iWire has created three types of adapters for the most common transmission swaps. Not sure which option you need? You can see which of the matching plugs below exists on your new transmission or Contact Us and we'll help you out!
(Need one of these receptacles? Check out the links at the bottom of the page)
This model is for Turbo transmission (single 4 pin plug, for example WRX) to DCCD equipped transmission with flying leads for DCCD wires.
Utilize our plug and play adapter to get the neutral position and reverse lights working as well as get your DIY DCCD controller install going with our 3 wire jumper harness (Grey plug) for 12v power and the two DCCD signal wires.
This model is for a NA transmission (2 plugs with 2 pins each, for example a RS) to a Turbo transmission (single 4 pin plug, for example WRX).
Just plug in our adapter to your matching bulkhead harness and the new Turbo transmission.
This model is for NA transmission (2 by 2 pin plugs, for example RS) to DCCD equipped transmission with flying leads for DCCD wires. The NA to DCCD Adapter works on 2015 and Up WRX Subaru with 6 Speed Transmission.
Just plug in our adapter to your matching bulkhead harness and the new DCCD transmission, then run the 3 wires from the Deutsch (Grey) connector to your DCCD controller for power and signal.
